The main purpose of the WGPA is to provide a voice for county ladies football and camogie players. Each county team across both codes has 2 player representatives in place who will communicate the views and issues of the players on their squad to the WGPA Executive team. The second role of the player rep is to inform their teammates about the services available through the WGPA and to refer players to the various support systems available.
Collective workshops are held to bring our reps together to discuss issues around their experiences as inter-county athletes. Sharing their views and knowledge helps players to overcome challenges and improve standards within their county. Our reps days also include an element of self-development among the reps, equipping them with additional skills and resources to benefit them in all aspects of their life including their playing experience.
